Mission
The Student Counseling Section is dedicated to fostering the psychological growth of students and enriching their university life, including academic progress, as part of the educational mission of the university. Our primary role is to provide counseling to students. We also engage in educational and outreach activities related to psychological challenges and development during student life and young adulthood, offer consultation to faculty and staff, and provide psychological support to those involved with students. Drawing on our expertise in student counseling, we work to develop and strengthen university-wide student support and counseling systems, conduct outreach in collaboration with related organizations, and carry out surveys to better understand student needs and improve the campus environment.
Services
The Student Counseling Section serves all students enrolled at Kyushu University (undergraduate, graduate, and research students). We provide consultations on student life and academic matters. Our counselors are specialist faculty members holding qualifications as Certified Clinical Psychologists or University Counselors, and we give full consideration to the privacy of all consultations. For international students, counselors who can speak English and Chinese are available. For questions specific to your faculty or graduate school (course selection, study methods, career paths, etc.), we can refer you to an academic advisor in your department as needed. Our main services are as follows.
